who am i looking for?

every night i examine the stars before i go to bed. i don't know what prompts me but its a habit i never could break. sometimes i think its 'cause i'm looking for something... someone. each night the sky looks so different. sometimes it turn blood red around 1 am or dark and haunting when the clouds cover it. other times its a clear blue littered with stars in every direction.

i feel that every wise man who ever lived took some notice of stars. some of them used them to travel. others used them to tell stories, define theories, make complicated decisions or just gazed in their beauty.

i think were all looking for a light. some of us find it and hide like the shadows do. others decide to get too close and burn from it. i feel that most of us just like to sit and enjoy the lights presence and warmth. i think God made stars to remind us of him. sometimes he feels out of touch, or beyond reach, but we forget how fragile our universe is composed and without the sun's eternal heat we all would be frozen to death. sometimes life seems like a cloudy day; we can't see God but we still know he's there. meanwhile some days a gentle ray of sunlight comes into our room, you know that kind where all the dust particles are illuminated and its so warm you could bath in it? its those moments that God reminds he's still there. his never ending vigilance.
